Local Partnerships

Local Partnerships’ climate work supports the public sector to:

– deliver strategic and practical approaches to achieve net-zero
– plan for a changing climate, by assessing local impacts and necessary changes
– deliver renewable energy infrastructure and energy efficiency projects
– develop and deliver to minimise waste and facilitate a circular economy

We work with the public sector to support the development of heat networks, acting as client lead for a number of local authorities in progression of heat network feasibility and business cases. We are currently working with Milton Keynes City Council, Staffordshire County Council, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and the City of London. This work includes preparation for the expiry of existing heat network contracts, planning for the expansion and decarbonisation of existing heat networks, participation in the advanced zoning pilot, development of new opportunities linked to waste heat opportunities (feasibility and business case support). Local Partnerships work with technical and legal experts providing project management, commercial and financial support.
