MEHNA – Manufacturers of Equipment for Heat Networks Association

Activities include involvement on many CEN and BSI standards committees for product and installation standards as well as being the contact with Government departments, Institutions and other official bodies such as OFGEM now they have been appointed as the heat networks regulator under the Energy Security Bill. MEHNA were instrumental in the ongoing development of BS 8635 which is a new Hydraulic Interface Unit Specification Standard and Part 1 was  published in 2024. We also currently have involvement with the government working groups developing the 2025 Building Regulations amendments as we transition to the Future Buildings Standard.
Our skills are based in product design and how to use standards and regulations to give protection to our members. We represent all the products which go together to form a heat network.
The Association is keen to promote skills in the workforce and has a working group developing a training programme for heat network installers / operators.
Membership is open to any company who markets products or services to the heat network sector and we would be pleased to visit and discuss the benefits of membership related to specific product areas.

A number of networking events are being planned for members to get together and socialise to discuss current industry issues. There will also be the opportunity to invite guests to a specific event with industry speakers.
Full membership gives you access to all sectors of the association with full voting rights. Through membership of your chosen sectors, you will have the opportunity to be kept informed about and assist in decision making of any forthcoming changes in standards and legislation that directly affect your business. You can choose which committees you want to be involved with and you can sit on any or all of the committees which you consider relevant to your business.
