University of Reading are tendering for the installation of a 1.1 MWth open loop ground source heat pump, fed from a below ground aquifer (boreholes already drilled) on its main Whiteknights campus. The project aims to deliver up to 6 GWh heat and 3 GWh cooling to their existing owned campus district heating network and planned new minor cooling network, with the heat pump installed in its existing Energy Centre, to act as the primary heat source for the DHN. The project is being tendered through the Crown Commercial Services’ (CCS) Demand Renewables DPS Framework RM6313 and is an industry standard 2016 JCT design & build contract, with 3 packages of work; civils, builders works (inc minor M&E), major M&E). All enquiries must be made through the CCS framework.
